You want to create a product or build a business, and you start by focusing all your energy on the unimportant stuff first.
You start designing the brand
You give yourself a paper-card title and update your social media bio
You start preparing a pitch deck
You come up with reasons why you should get investment
You watch some youtube videos
You stay too secretive about your idea and don't take anyone's feedback
You make 50 versions of your pitch deck
You apply to startup pitching events
You end up spending months of your valuable time living in your head.
I suggest you forget all the above and just do the following.
If you have an idea, MAKE A PROTOTYPE.
Take the prototype to market for USER TESTING.
Come back and FIX IT. Make SEVERAL ITERATIONS.
When you have REAL PEOPLE READY TO BUY your product/service, that's when you make your pitch deck.
The rest will fall in place.
Most of the time, we get derailed by focusing on the wrongs things first. It ruins your momentum and keeps you far away from reality to build something that's not what you think is best but is accepted by actual customers.
Was this relatable? Did you see people around you doing something like this?
